Just got back from the Chicago show, and I still haven't come down. It was an incredible show, and quite possibly my favorite of the 19 Scorpions shows I've attended in my lifetime! Here's the setlist:
Sting in the Tail
Make It Real
Bad Boys Running Wild
Coast To Coast
Loving You Sunday Morning
The Best Is Yet To Come
Wind of Change
Raised on Rock
Tease Me Please Me
Another Piece of Meat with Michael Schenker (including long jam in the middle of the song)
Six String Sting
Big City Nights
Still Loving You
No One Like You with Carmine Appice on drums
Rock You Like A Hurricane
MSG was phenomenal - first time I've seen them, and I didn't want them to stop playing. Our seats were the best seats I've ever had - front row center with no barrier, and if this was my last Scorpions concert (hopefully not!) what a way to go......I played on Pawels bass, received Rudolf's fist banging the beat of Tease Me Please me into my hand about 8 times, got a stick handed to me from Klaus and a pick handed to me from Rudolf, my friend got a drumstick from James, we got hand slaps from all of the band members except for James during the show....it just got better and better!
And then there was the music.....that wonderful music that I can never get enough of! It never fails to amaze me how these guys can come out there night after night with such energy and passion, and they ALWAYS put on a great show! It was so cool to see Michael join them on stage and to hear Another Piece of Meat, and I was also thrilled to hear Still Loving You again - first time I've heard it this year, and I went to 4 shows. Another highlight for me was hearing The Best Is Yet To Come. I could go on and on........
The ILAA package was great - we had a lot of fun both nights, and met some nice people. We even ran into a couple that I recognized from the Minnesota show 2 years ago (they remembered me as well), and our seats turned out to be right next to them in the front row. We had fun sharing that experience together!
Klaus gave a little speech about it being the last night of the American tour, and thanked the fans, and all I could keep thinking was that he had it backwards.....we want to thank them for everything they have given us all of these years! My life has been infinitely richer because of them and their music. Thank you, Scorpions, from the bottom of my heart!!!
