They should not quit this way ...

I really respect their decision of retirying and it makes me feel very sad, but I think they should not retire with this Tour. This tour is to promote their new Sting in the Tail album, so they have to play at least 3-5 songs of this album and I think it's great and I really want to listen Sting in the Tail, No Limit, Lorelei, The best is yet to come, Raised on Rock, Turn You on, Spirit of Rock (well, all of them hahaha) live, but this is not the way to retire for a great band like them because they are leaving out great hits such as When the Somke is going down, Dynamite, In Trance, The Rythm of Love and several songs that they should not leave out for their very last tour. I think that their last tour should not be a new album tour but an all-time hits and some new ones like Humanity...

What do you think?

Well its Get your Sting and "blackout" so they have to include some from new album

I really wish they did the "Get Your Sting And Blackout" tour

Then after that they do a "Farewell Tour".

Playing songs from the albums Lonesome Crow (I'm Going Mad), Fly To The Rainbow, In Trance, Virgin Killer, Taken By Force. Then including all their 80's and 90's hits.

I don't know if they are going to change their tour name after this one though. Maybe the'll do another round around the world for a farewell.

I wonder where the last concert will be... maybe Germany. That would be fitting :)

Let me just run something by all of you for a minute.... If you were a major rock act, and were not happy with your management, what would you do? Consider the fact that there is a contract between the band and the management. Suppose this, 'said' contract had a clause in it stating that the management could not be fired "unless they were not performing their duties". The only way this management could be dissolved was if the band either; broke up or retired. Because this band WOULD NEVER break up....their only recourse was to retire.
Say 'good-bye' to bad management and handle all of the production yourselves. Not such a bad deal when you only tour every 2-3 years. Who do you know wouldn't take this temporary contract for the SCORPIONS? Crap...I would! They know this and are being very smart about things!!! The Scorpions would never tell their fans that they were breaking up just to delete their manager. They have too much respect for their fans!!! Hence the 'Retirement' announcment. I could be wrong...but, 'The Best is Yet to Come' tells me otherwise!

Well, it seems to me that they wouldn't do such a thing as retirement just to get rid of their terrible management, but it's true I've been thinking of it too. Their management and merchadise is terrible! Such a band should be promoted much more and they always play in the same places while there are a lot of countries dying to see them for the first time. I've seen some concerts from the second round of Humanity World Tour that were almost empty, I couldn't believe what I saw. Here in Mexico they don't get the best places and there's almost no merchadise like the one for Aerosmith, Bon Jovi or Coldplay... Also the stage for the concert and the animations on the giant screen could be better like the one for Aerosmith or AC/DC, etc. I'm not attacking the Scorpions but I think such a great and legendary band should have better stages, animation, merchadise and more places to go... In music and performance from my very own point of view they are the best, but the experience would be even better if they could improve these things...

Since the tour hasn't even started, we don't know what the setlist is so how do you know that they're going to leave those songs out?

I totally understand what you're saying! The issues that you have, with their concerts, is at the fault of management. They hand these things over to the manager when they sign with them. Everything is under contract and they are obligated to adhere to that contract. There are many older rock bands now, that handle their own publicity or 'bid it out' to temporary management. This way they can tour when they want, where they want, and how they want. These contracts would be very evasive....no major 'deals' or restrictions. Like I said...I could be wrong but I don't see the Scorpions, sitting in a studio somewhere, just playing for fun. Do you really think that Rudolph, Matthias and Klaus can just 'turn off' their creativity? That's like telling Picasso not to paint anymore! It just isn't possible. You can't turn it off, and if you don't share it....you destruct. They are NOT that stupid. This is just my opinion but, I hope I am right. Thanks for hearing me BIBOT. BE WELL!!! And 'Buenos Tardes'!!!!??? :D

I would also like to say that they are leaving som classics out that they should play if this is the last, also the mood of the first dates haven't been in the mood of a last tour, they should start with some kind of video of their great moments and presenting each of the members and I don't know, for me it doesn't seem like a final tour... it lacks something...

zepp65 you are 100% correct...Fans don't worry the band will rethink things on this so-called farewell tour. I just can not believe Rudy and Klaus want to go out under such a dictatorship called AMEND!!! Here is my thought on this whole thing. The band will do this farewell tour through 2012. Take 2013 off to do side projects and then come back in 2014 with Herman back on Drums and hopefully Francis on bass if not him then a big name bass player. Plus new management maybe Doc Mcghee or a big time management team from the USA. Don't believe a second that the band is worried about their age. Rudy is in better shape then most 25 year olds and Klaus sounds as good today as he did back in the 80's. So that is not a issue. Plus keep checking out the interviews and at no time did the band say that they were for the retirement statement they always say that management told them this is the best way to go out and that the new CD is the best that they could ever do in their career. So we can sit back and enjoy this last tour with this lineup and management and then we have a lot to look forward to in the future.

SO NEW MANAGEMENT AND A NEW EXCITING LINEUP IN 2014 WILL BE A SUCCESSFUL RETURN!!!
