I Just Have a Question

I Just Have a Question

Is a manager someone who can fire you from your own band, say like you get in a verbal or other arguement with them (and hope in Ca. they don't sue you for that), and so what if you quit out on a contract, they opt to sue you again? So, it's like do what this manager says (everybody) or they get all legal (not your friend on your side anymore) on you, because it's more really like about the money you can make them (which should be your bid anyway, other way what you want, or not or to have them gone, am I right?) it's not really about what you decide you don't want to do anymore? Play this song, or not, go here, like this, and it must be like that as they negotiated it without you anyway? I don't know. I know i've imagined the worse, but still can't understand (and seriously no offense) why people can't make their own phone calls, money deals, or whatever. How many bands do you all think operate without a manager in their lengthened career and does it work?
Can you fire them? Can they fire you - or do they just 'sue' you and write someone else in. As there is a contract in place or not, they just dance out of the air with someone new and everyone signed, "yeah that dude is gone." I don't even want to think about song ownership, that's a nitemare drag. I'm just thinking about how is it like your boss situation to fire you?
Obviously a lawyer is a great thing to have, but is the manager can it be kind of the same thing?
Before anyone says something. No. I'm not trying to get personal. I'm not in this kind of work, and I really don't think managers really like their band, I could be wrong. What's it's like, huh?

Yeah, I mean why should they be more popular than the talent. It's like if you don't 'know someone - or familiar with,' you won't get booked there or you'll get gypped in one of their other contract deals? Just sounds bogus anyway, what do managers have that is so special to offer? I would really like to value them as a person!
