:)
My maximal agreement here Tom.
It annoys me too so much that nobody has any willness to use it and there are always thousandth repeated topics, especially in GD.

I could bet on almost anything that making "search" larger and brighter won't change anything. The problem is something else.

The problem is mostly with newbies and that is not their fault! They just need to be educated on what to do if they wish to post sthg. Most of them don't know that most of what they come up with as discussion has been discussed or posted several times.

Mh, I don't understand what you mean now :P But I meant that people just don't think about using "search". Maybe they're just too excited they can post or too eager to share their ideas or.... they just don't think. But since I've quite stopped reading GD anyway by now I can't say it bothers me so much.

yes,i've noticed it too what you're saying..even if i'm new here,i see constantly similar questions and this is quite tiring to answer all the time to same ones..as for what i meant,is that if you and the other FOSers in this topic discussed about this lack of ideas..now,i understood it! thank you as well Cristy too :)
btw your avatar is WONDERFUL! should i clap my hands?

I guess this kind of situation is quite normal in a place where there is only one (?) moderator and no rules, but some people love chaos too, so...

I'm currently looking for a nice avatar, but nice to hear you like this one ;)

well Cristy there are in most forums rules that you must agree to such as this one
before you register .. one of those is that is highly suggested that you use the search feature ,,
ive seen topics posted here and the same subject was either on the 1st or second page of
general discussion and they still posted the same info
and its not just new members .. theres ppl here that were even on Gils old forum that
have done the same thing .. so no ones pointing fingers at new members

I guess I was trying to give the new members the benefit of the doubt that they are new. I have no answer for why the old ones still do this. I have used search so many times and have found and not found topics I wish to post! It works. There is one thing I have noticed tho. If u don't put the exact wording in search, it can bypass the same topic u wish to post, so therefore a duplicate gets posted. Did that make sense?

Hmmmmmm don't forget folks we do not live in a perfect world. There is always going to be someone who is unhappy about something that happens or doesn't happen here. We do the best we can with what we have and we do try to make everyone happy even though we know it is impossible. My suggestion is to come here and enjoy the forum and how does that old saying go... ahhhh yes ... don't sweat the small stuff ... and it's all small stuff.

Hi Tom

So if we clean house should we start with all the random posts you make? We get feedback from a lot of people who love them and alot of people who are upset that they opened a topic to read a few random funny words you wrote. See what I mean hun....there is no way to please everyone. Soooooooo AGAIN, just enjoy the forum and be happy that the Scorpions provide it for all of us.

And I am referring to the forum as a whole! Try to remember that the world is not going to shift off its axis if someone did use the search feature!
