But it would be nice to have no repeated topics. The forum as a whole is a mess anyway, so why not have at least one thing "cleaned".

Anchez .... I totally agree, it would be nice not to have repeated topics but I don't see that happening. There are too many people from too many different countries signing on to this site each day and to get them ALL to use the SEARCH feature is nearly impossible.

Folks .. please don't misundertand me .... I'm not disagreeing I'm just saying that its not a perfect world and if we have more then one topic about the same thing the world is not going to come to an end.

Sherry, question....if they do repeat a topic, can we post the link and have ppl post their answers on the original or previous topic on the matter and let the poster know that the other link was here first? Without being nasty, of course!!! Thx.

Cristy.... I don't see a thing wrong with replying to someone with the link of the first topic on whatever subject. I also don't see anything wrong with Wolfgang, Tim or I merging the two topics. Having said that, like I've now mentioned a few time .... your never going to be able to make EVERYONE post where you want them to so no need for you to police the forum members. Ya know what I mean?

For sure Sherry thanks. I can understand the frustration tho of yet another topic of the same one last month and the month before yadayadayada. But just a simple link post to show the other poster that....see this topic already exists, why don't we start building off of the previous one? kind of thing.
Also, about you merging the topics. I know that you do that to save space and redundancy. But I have seen where there are posters who have not known where their topic has gone and are upset. Is there anyway of informing these ppl that their topic was a duplicate and was merged with an already existing one instead of them not knowing? Thx.

ANYTIME that "I" move or merge a topic I ALWAYS contact the original poster privately to let them know. So to answer your question Cristy, the people's topics that I deal with already know. I however can not speak on Wolfgang or Tim's behalf with how each of them handle it.
