Scorpions PS3 Skin - Can I get copyright approval?

Hello everyone!

I'm new to the Scorpions forum, but I've been a fan of Scorpions since I was 9 years old! (The song No Pain No Gain was the first I've ever heard and it caught me immedality)
I love this band, my all-time favorite band
I hope you read this through and can help me with a problem I have, it would be most appreciated!

Look at my picture, my profile picture or what you call it. I've made a PS3 skin (Playstation 3) on Skinit.com customizer. I have not send it to Skinit.com because I probably need copyright confirmation on the trademark (in this case the Scorpions textlogo, and maybe the picture of the BIG scorpion to I guess, if it's Scorpions copyrighted). It's Skinit.com "Terms and Conditions".

The only thing I need copyright confirmation on is the top front, which is 2 things:
1.the text logo and
2. the big scorpion holding the earth (guess that u know the meaning of that!).
The rest of my PS3 skin is Skinit.com owns vector graphics and text, so that's not part of my problem.

This PS3 skin is, of course, only for my personal usage. NOT FOR COMMERCIAL USE! And of course I only have 1 PS3 and only need 1 PS3 skin.

Is there anyone out there that can answer me this:
- What should I do? What can I do to get confirmation to use Scorpions textlogo and the beautiful BIG scorpion picture?
- In other words, who can i contact? I hope it's at least someone who can talk english. Swedish would be to good to be true .
- Or should I just give it up? Maybe it's a hell to get approval, even for a really really small thing like this and even that I'm a big Scorpions fan?

Immortal, he is right, you need to email Amend and he will give you the legalities of what you ask for.

I got respond and unfortunaly, you were wrong They said no, but they didn't say why. Why is it not possible? It's just one PS3 skin!

Yeah...you're probably right. But they could at least MOTIVATE why. But it should be okay to write SCORPIONS with, for exemple, Times new roman right...

Well, I guess there's no problem in still writing "Scorpions", but with another font, however, it will lose some of its identity...

Sorry Immortal, but it sounds like a control issue. They want full control of decisions made on merchandise, etc. with the Scorpions logo. So since they don't have the control on the PS3 skin, then it's a no go. Wish they would have given you an explanation tho.

Yeah, it must be something like control *** . Yes, at least a short explanation. I worked hard with the PS3 skin and they just "No". But I mean, come on, it's just 1 PS3 Skin. I could easily have taked a print screen of the order and so on to prove it. And what is the worst that can happen? That I use it on my PS3? Besides, they who seek full control is living in a dream world, don't you agree? You can NEVER have full control, espacilly in these days of 2008. the Scorpions logo is all over the internet, for example. I really don't like their decision but I guess I either have to text Scorpions with a boring font like Verdana or Times new roman, or just give it up.

But a funny thing though, why aren't Scorpions using their own logo on THEIR website? . Crazy if you ask me!

Sorry to hear they said no to your request without an explanation but I am sure they get thousands and thousands of request like this per year. I would rather them just say no and use their time to work on booking tours then to write a long explanation to all who inquire about their logo.

Or better yet, if they had an explanation already drawn up and when they get asked this question, say no and then paste the explanation to it.
