HUMANITY WORLD TOUR???

HUMANITY WORLD TOUR???

Unread postby Deleted User 13688 » March 22nd, 2009, 8:19 pm

Hey, is this still going to be considered the "Humanity World Tour" since they are recording a new album??? BTW why was it called that in the first place when only 3 new songs, for the most part, were sung throughout the entire tour??? Usually when a tour is named after the new album, more songs are played, isn't that true??
BTW DON'T ANYBODY SCOLD ME FOR BRINGING THIS UP, I AM ASKING OUT OF HONEST CURIOUSITY. :x :|

my concert going experience has been a new album release tour is usually only 2-4 new songs. Unless it's Iron Maiden who played the entire A matter of Life and Death a couple tours ago, some fans enjoyed very much, other fans wanted to hear all the old classics. Dream Theater and Coheed and Cambria are also known for playing full albums at a show.

When Priest was promoting Nostradamus they too only played 3 songs off new album, Death Angel same thing.

Most bands don't want to take the risk of "alienating" their fan base by playing tooo many new songs as a handful is enough of a sampling to make you want to go buy the new release.

Ok thanks Kristy I appreciate that. I really thot that it was the norm what IM did. I heard they did that and in some places it was successful, other places it wasn't. If I had been able to see IM again, I wouldnt have cared if they played their new songs. So I thot 3 songs was not normal and they should have played more.
So then when they tour before their new album is out, it's still considered their old tour name?
Thx for taking me seriously Kristy.

I completely agree with Kristy. :D Just dreaming here ... but I'd love to hear the Scorps do a live show where they start with Album one and perform all the songs they have ever done on every album. Man that would be one rocking weekend. :D :P

You're very welcome! 8) With Maiden it's so hard to say because THEY run themselves. Yes they have Rod as the most amazing manager ever!! and Rod works for Steve. Harris is a sharp business man and he runs his own company.. Iron Maiden Holdings which I think is one thing that has set them apart... you play by Steve's rules or you don't play at all.

I suppose it also has to deal with weather you are headlining or not. In 1982 Maiden toured under the Number of the beast tour when they where in UK headling... then came to U.S. to open for the Scorpions on their Blackout tour.... so I suppose you have to take that into consideration.

As opposed to not risk alienating their fans in the US by not touring?

It's just called the Humanity World Tour only to distinguish down the road just what the timeline was. As when you mention Blackout tour you know that LAFS was still not out and what songs they were playing. Just as the 2003 tour will be looked upon as the last time they ever toured the US.

Fan apathy was waning plenty prior to these last few years, and right now it is a safe bet to say "stick a fork in them, they are done on these shores", as every single fan I have spoken to the last few months really doesn't care if they ever tour here again as they have had it with the lies and bs about why they haven't toured. Every single freaking band on the planet has done US tours except for them. So it very easy to tell that anything coming out of their mouths about an upcoming US tour is ***. And if by some miracle they ever tour here, no one will come.

I whish too they played more songs of HH1. Look at the Unbreakable tour: they played 5, 6 new songs, the same 1999 for the EyeIIEye tour. But yes, in the 80's they played only 3 or 4 new songs . . .
But let us speaking after the HH1 tour 2007-2008-2009 about HH1!

Even though they only played 3 songs off the Humanity Hour 1..they were still promoting the HH1 CD for this tour and that is why they called it the Humanity Tour...Hell they could of called it the Love at First Sting tour since they played 6 songs off that CD on this tour - Bad Boys Running Wild, Rock You Like A Hurricane, I'm Leaving You,Coming Home, Big City Nights and Still Loving You..

Ted as usually you are right on the mark...I will tell you if the band ignores the USA on the next World Tour and does not release their new CD at the same time all around the world...You can forget about ever playing America again...Fans all across the USA are so pissed the band is becoming a joke to everyone..

So boys you have 2 strikes(UNBREAKABLE AND HUMANITY TOURS) against you...You either show up in our country do some promoting and touring or stay in europe and forget about your Visa's..You are just wasting our time and money..

HUMANITY - GOODBYE.....

Uhm, now that you spoke.. I notice. In all of the tours are like this... They give preference to the old music, their classic, that the one of the current album in tour.. I don't know.. I think should play more the new songs, they are excellent.

Seems like there is still a lot of unanswered question regarding this topic. :? I think Wolfgang is trying to plan another interview of one of the band members here in the future so maybe this would be a good question for him to ask so that everyones questions are answered. :) Just a thought! :)

Come on people the answer is easy...back in the 80's and early 90's new studio albums from that era sold 2 to 3 million copies in North America alone..new Scorpions videos were played every hour on MTV..new music was played on every radio station every day..

The new CD's are bombing on the charts..no new music on the radio stations and VH1 classic which plays new music on their station never even received the Humanity video from management.

Here are some stats on new music played on each North American tour from 1979 - 2007: and CD's/albums sold in North America:

1979 - LoveDrive Tour - 6 new songs - sold 1 million copies
1980 - Animal Magnetism Tour - 4 new songs - sold 1 million copies
1982 - Blackout Tour - 5 new songs - sold 2 million copies
1984 - Love At First Sting Tour- 5 new songs - sold 4 million copies
1988 - Savage Amusement Tour - 5 new songs - sold 1.5 million sopies
1990-91 - Crazy World Tour - 6 new songs - sold 4 miliion copies
1993-94 - Face The Heat Tour - 3 new songs - sold 500,000 copies
1996 - Pure Instinct Tour - 3 new songs - sold less then 30,000 copies
1999 - Eye 2 Eye Tour - 3 new songs - sold less then 25,000 copies
2004 - Unbreakable Tour - 5 new songs - sold less then 20,000 copies
2007 - Humanity Tour - 3 new songs - sold less then 20,000 copies

ACDC have had a concert in Budapest recently.
I heared from somebody yesterday who was there that they had played just four songs from their latest album, every other songs were their most wellknown and popular songs.
Klaus-THE SPECIAL ONE,
Rudolf-THE WISE ONE,
Matthias-THE COOL ONE,
Pawe-THE SIMPLE ONE,
James-THE CRAZY ONE,
The Scorpions are THE NICEST GUYS.

I saw AC/DC last November in Washington DC and they played 5 new songs and nothing after Back in Black except for the show closer For Those About to Rock..So they had a gap of 27 years from the new stuff and the other songs they played live...So basically AC/DC threw away 27 years of material in favor of their popular songs..Don't get wrong they were great in concert and the show sold out in 30 minutes..So no complaining from here..
