The new CD's are bombing on the charts..no new music on the radio stations and VH1 classic which plays new music on their station never even received the Humanity video from management.

Here are some stats on new music played on each North American tour from 1979 - 2007: and CD's/albums sold in North America:

1979 - LoveDrive Tour - 6 new songs - sold 1 million copies
1980 - Animal Magnetism Tour - 4 new songs - sold 1 million copies
1982 - Blackout Tour - 5 new songs - sold 2 million copies
1984 - Love At First Sting Tour- 5 new songs - sold 4 million copies
1988 - Savage Amusement Tour - 5 new songs - sold 1.5 million sopies
1990-91 - Crazy World Tour - 6 new songs - sold 4 miliion copies
1993-94 - Face The Heat Tour - 3 new songs - sold 500,000 copies
1996 - Pure Instinct Tour - 3 new songs - sold less then 30,000 copies
1999 - Eye 2 Eye Tour - 3 new songs - sold less then 25,000 copies
2004 - Unbreakable Tour - 5 new songs - sold less then 20,000 copies
2007 - Humanity Tour - 3 new songs - sold less then 20,000 copies

Thanks for mention the selling records,i wonder how much world wide!Last night i was looking to World Wide Live tape, and they really had a unbelievable time by that time, wish i already seen them by then!

kristof...The Albums sells were for only in the USA not the world...from 1979-1991 the Scorpions were one of the biggest bands on the planet and especially in the USA...I was just trying to prove a point that the Scorpions have gone downhill since the classic lineup broke up...

I think that Ted and Scott are right. They have become a joke because they are always promising next year. Reminds of that musical Annie -- Tomorrow, tomorrow is always just a day away! It seems every band touring the country is coming to the SA-Austin metroplex except for my favorite band. Unfortunatly, it doesn't really seem like they want to come here or they would make sure they had arraingments to do so.
The old days were the old days. And they were great days. But now is now.

ScorpsSistah wrote:Hey, is this still going to be considered the "Humanity World Tour" since they are recording a new album??? BTW why was it called that in the first place when only 3 new songs, for the most part, were sung throughout the entire tour??? Usually when a tour is named after the new album, more songs are played, isn't that true??
BTW DON'T ANYBODY SCOLD ME FOR BRINGING THIS UP, I AM ASKING OUT OF HONEST CURIOUSITY. :x :|

Its a good question! And reason is when you see a group that has been making music for 20-30 years, they have so much material to cover that a new album only gets 3-5 songs. Agree that some are better at incorporating their new material. On the Rush Snakes & Arrows Tour, they played 8 of the new songs, but then also played a total of 26 songs for a 2.5 hour show.

Oh Sherry, I perhaps can help you.
I think that Rudy meant what happened with not tobe a Scorpions tour in the U.S. this year.
Klaus-THE SPECIAL ONE,
Rudolf-THE WISE ONE,
Matthias-THE COOL ONE,
Pawe-THE SIMPLE ONE,
James-THE CRAZY ONE,
The Scorpions are THE NICEST GUYS.

Scottss8 wrote:I saw AC/DC last November in Washington DC and they played 5 new songs and nothing after Back in Black except for the show closer For Those About to Rock..So they had a gap of 27 years from the new stuff and the other songs they played live...So basically AC/DC threw away 27 years of material in favor of their popular songs..Don't get wrong they were great in concert and the show sold out in 30 minutes..So no complaining from here..
I believe AC/DC shirked 27 yrs from thier set list to appease the young fans....13- 20 yr olds.

I do like ACDC in concert. I think they put on a great show but I must admit (maybe its just cus Im older and have heard the songs many many times but...) all the songs just kinda sound the same to me these days. Most musicians I know say that ACDC is too simple. What do musicians here think about that?

I still don't know what Rudi is talking about .......but if Gabi is right ... its pretty easy to shoot and email to the management and ask them!

[quote="ScorpsDiva"]I completely agree with Kristy. :D Just dreaming here ... but I'd love to hear the Scorps do a live show where they start with Album one and perform all the songs they have ever done on every album. Man that would be one rocking weekend. :D :P

I would also love your idea above- I would love to hear the WHOLE Animal Magnetism album at one live show- MY DREAM is to hear "HOLD ME TIGHT" as a live song!! The collectors tell me it will probably never happen- but it is MY DREAM!! I think that song was way ahead of it's time!! I also love the WHOLE album!!
You gotta live it up, There's NO limit. We gotta make it, There's NO limit. You give it all you've got, There's NO limit. REACH FOR THE SKY!!
