I may be one of a handful among the world that will not bow down and kiss-ass up to Eddie Van Halen. So he got famous becaus eof publicity doing his two-handed tapping and is indeed a great guitar player, but unlike most others I never bought into this whole hype that he is the best guitar God on the planet like US magazines have been pushing. You see there were things that Uli Roth was doing before Eddie and stuff Michael was doing that did not get the ears of the US press. .

I think in the last years few people has written here more negative criticisms about this band than I did, but I at least (I think) they were well-founded criticism.
But you came saying strange statements with no evidence to prove a single thing that you said. Like:
. They didn't completely wrote their songs
. Their production made their songs what they are, not them
. It's all thanks to An electronic studio ...
"And even sometimes the guitars are out of tune"
Out of tune??? Say some examples, And please don't say (as I can imagine) the typical Rudolf's mistakes on solos (that now is part of the scorps history ) that is not being out of tune.
A good example of this illusion is watch the comments section of a official release live video of a band, then go look at the comments of an unofficial live release or bootleg - a world of difference. People so badly want to believe that their band sounds that good live when it doesn't. SOOOO many 80's bands are this way.
That is false. Have you ever listened soundboard recordings? Not the low quality audience ones... next time take your time to listen a few number of recordings before talking about something.
The scorpions are not the best live band ever, but they are a really good one, for me one of the bests.
But you are right many late 80's bands had a poor sound.
they do have this indi , retro , punkish vibe because its so raw and the foundation is very simplistic... When you mix in screaming fans it kinda covers things up.
They looked like a punk band, They had punkish vibe... Thanks god Matthias and Klaus lost their hair so soon, I wouldn't have liked to see them with mohawk hairstile
Ok, I cannot take this post seriusly anymore, punk... I cannot understand why you keep on comparing them to that.
More than a criticism or opinon this topic seems some kind of seek for controversy.
No matter what it is, songwriting, production, live perfomances, sound...
