I think I'd trust flyingvee's opinion on rock music most better than any professionals out there, like Eddie Trunk. He's being honest but also I know he's being nice. The guy does not have a mean bone in his body. I think our generation has seen too much of its share of bands like Mutley Crud and Poison who went for the image to have people bypass the fact that they couldnt play. If you need a visual gimmick then it means you lack the talent. If you got the talent, let the music do the talking buddy. That's just the truth of it man. If she's as good as you say then she can make it looking like Doro rather than some punk. Again, if she was serious as a performer at her age and went with more of a Doro look, then guys like me with connections could try and get a tape in the hands of someone that might do something with it. As it stands that image turns off a lot of people.
On the subject, same applies to all these tribute bands out there. What rock did many of you crawl out from under. I played with Flyingvee in probably the original Scorpions tribute band back in the 80's. And doing that *** before all of these tabs and charts existed, learning the songs by ear. Some of the tribute bands are OK, one in fact, In Trance, you guys kick ass. Credit where credit is due. The other ones in Europe, nice bar bands. And the female Scorpions tribute band, give me a break. Just because they are all female we should place them on a pedestal? A novelty yes. A tribute band, awful.
Thats just the way it is. A lot of garbage out today, I have the balls to call them as I see them, and when I do find a good band I give them props.
