Scorpions Tribute V !

Hello, it's been awhile since I last posted on here, but life got in the way as usual. I promised Adiana a long time ago I would post pictures of a guitar I was building. I still need to finish that one, but this one is now done, and is much better anyway!

The body is Honduran mahogany and the neck Eastern Curly Maple:

It features an African Blackwood fingerboard and headplate with Paua shell inlay on the fingerboard and mother of pearl Scorpions "S" on the headplate. African Black wood is actually a type of rosewood, and is very hard to get in larger pieces and quite expensive.

This is my "trademark" -- I inlay the fingerboard into the neck, so that it is a one-piece maple neck and binding concept. The headplate is done the same way.

The plan was to give it Rudolf as a "retirement" gift, and a souvenir to remember his days playing in Canada by. The bridge, nut and pickup on the guitar are actually manufactured by Canadian companies. But I was not able to finish it in time to try and make the necessary arrangement to present it to him before their show in Toronto July 2, and I wanted to make sure it was good to go before making any kind of arrangement, and I literally just finished it yesterday! We are leaving tomorrow (Sunday) for the concert.

I tried messaging Lars Amend to see if he could advise me on who to contact to make the arrangement, or maybe relay the message to Rudy, but no response. Does anyone possibly know how it could be done on such short notice?? Otherwise, it looks like I'm keeping it then. I can be happy that I was successful in completing it in time. I almost gave up a few times! And it plays and sounds very sweet too. But it's still really disappointing.

Ok, and thank you very much for the compliment, a please feel free to post the pics on your wall too!! That was my first intention to post it on Rudy's wall, but you can't seem to post pics anymore there, just text. I sure hope Rudy would love it, but the more time that goes by, the harder it is for me to part with it!

And I love the advert on your avatar -- I'm a sucker for flying v's!! Is the Fireaxe one at the web site? That reminds me, I had wanted to do a poster print that could be hung in MJ's store. I'll get back on that sometime in the near future and pass it on through you.

Sounds good Whipper.....and thx for the compliment on the advert. No, for some reason the Fireaxe isn't on his website.....which frankly sorta sux. Sorry but he used to have an awesome website, which many others have told me the same thing, but that was when he had someone else doing it and that didn't work out. Anyway, if you friend me, like I said in my PM, then I will show you the advert I did. I can also show you a closer view of the Flying Vee on my avatar. I am also going to work on the Fireaxe Sunburst model advert next. However, if you watch the vids from the USA and watch SITT, the first song, you will see either the white one or the Sunburst Maple one, cuz MJ is playing one or the other. I loooove the inventions of MJ in collaboration with Boris!! MJ isn't just a pretty face or good guitar player, he is brilliant in his innovations and has a very inventive mind!!!
BTW, if one wants to know the price for the Fireaxe, they need to email Stefan at the shop. I have the addy on the advert.
