I know it´s a different style ... but Herman -in his prime- could play as fast and tough as James !!!
I like both of them equally, knowing that there´s only one real Scorpion
This is from good old 1988 (Savage Amusement Tour)

But thats my own opinion :p

First question I'd pose to anyone . . . . why does everything have to become a competition? Obviously, Herman Rarebell was a huge part of the Scorpions for many, many years. He was awesome!
But James Kottak is a nice guy, has reached out to hundreds, if not thousands of fans - having offered his personal e-mail account in the past, brings a tremendous amount of energy (and talent!) to the band, has ALSO helped write songs and music for the band, and is an incredible positive force. I feel that in posing these comparisons, it unfairly takes something away from the other person.
It's really not fair to either drummer - and I feel it will help those "dyed in the wool" Herman Rarebell fans to watch Acoustica, listen to some of the Scorps' recent work . . . James has definitely earned respect as being a part of the band.
