The Scorpions songs have always brought kind, love and hope for the best... This song is just another example to it.
No wonder why we love them.

Yes, my friend! You say perfect! The Omega wrote this song. Anna Adamis (lyrics) and Gabor Presser (music). The band played this song in acoustic version here in Budapest when they promoted their new album Eye II Eye in 1999. They were special guests inthe Golden Giraffe Gala.

My friend! Here is the lyrics in hungarian and english version.

Egyszer a nap
Úgy elfáradt
Elaludt mély
Zöld tó ölén
Az embereknek
Fájt a sötét
Ô megsajnált
Eljött közénk

Igen, jött egy gyöngyhajú lány
Álmodtam, vagy igaz talán
Így lett a föld, az ég
Zöld meg kék, mint rég
Igen, jött egy gyöngyhajú lány
Álmodtam, vagy igaz talán

A hajnal kelt
Ô hazament
Kék hegy mögé
Virág közé
Kis kék elefánt
Mesét mesélt
Szép gyöngyhaján
Alszik a fény
Igen, él egy gyöngyhajú lány
Álmodtam, vagy igaz talán
Gyöngyhaj azóta ég
Mély tengerbe ér
Igen, él egy gyöngyhajú lány
Álmodtam, vagy igaz talán

Igen, él egy gyöngyhajú lány
Álmodtam, vagy igaz talán
Gyöngyhaj azóta ég
Mély tengerbe ér

Igen, él egy gyöngyhajú lány
Álmodtam, vagy igaz talán

Mikor nagyon
Egyedül vagy
Lehull hozzád
Egy kis csillag
Hófehér gyöngyök
Vezessenek
Mint jó vándort
Fehér kövek

Igen, ébredj, gyöngyhajú lány
Álmodtam, vagy igaz talán
Ránk vár gyöngye mögött
Ég és föld között

Igen, ébredj, gyöngyhajú lány
Álmodtam, vagy igaz talán
Ránk vár gyöngye mögött
Ég és föld között

-----------------------------------

One day the sun became so weary
Lay down to sleep in the depth of a green lake
The people have suffered from the darkness
She felt sorrow and came among us

Yes, there came a pearl haired girl
I dreamed or it was perhaps real
So the earth and the sky became
Green and blue, as it was once upon a time
Yes there came a pearl haired girl
I dreamed or it was perhaps real
La La La...

The dawn broke and she returned home
Behind blue hills, among flowers
Little blue elephant told and told the tale
On her beautiful pearl hair the light sleeps

Yes, there lives a pearl haired girl
I dreamed or it was perhaps real
Pearl hair since, long ago
Has been living in the deep see
Yes, a pearl haired girl lives
I dreamed or it was perhaps real.
La La La ...

When you feel so all alone
A little star will fall down to you
Let snow-white stars guide your way
Like white stones the good wanderer.

Yes, rise up pearl haired girl
I dreamed or it was perhaps real
She awaits us behind a little pearl
Between the sky and earth

Yes, rise up pearl haired girl
I dreamed or it was perhaps real
She awaits us behind a little pearl
In between the sky and earth

Thanks for the great translation Luky. I like this song. Last weekend I play the CD to my mother in law. She is 75 years old and enjoy classical music. But she knows the Scorps and when she heard Ave Maria and White dove she was touched by her heart and want to hear it again and again. That´s so great.

Man without a name, welcome to the family of spiders. Enjoy the forum and have fun.

KEEP ON ROCKING

Sorry folks, but as a fan of both bands I think Omega's original is way better. The Scorpions version sounds like it was recorded in a hurry and the lyrics made up on the spot.

In the name of further information, there's a version of "White Dove" on Omega's live CD from 1994. The Scorpions also appear on that CD/DVD, doing Wind of Change (not on DVD) and joining in with Omega on a couple of other tunes. Gyongyhaju Lany, as an Omega concert favourite, is also on there.

This material can be found at http://www.allof peethree .com for anyone interested.

Yes Angus! You say right! I have this Omega show on DVD. Klaus & Rudy played as a special guests in Csillagok utján (On The Way Of Stars) and Fekete pillangó (Black Butterfly). In the second Klaus sang the refrain in hungarian language together with the singer of Omega. They also played Wind Of Change together but this song released in other DVD what is a mixed material of the 1994 and 1999 concerts. (The songs what they left from the official 94 & 99 DVDs)

Here is a great Omega fanpage where you can find great informations from the band in 6-7 languages!!!

Luky: Ah, WoC is on the 94-99 mixed Nepstadion DVD, is it? I'll have to get that too, then! Should have picked it up when I was in MO last month. ;) I think the Scorps should have also pinched "Fekete Pillangó", as Klaus does a great job on it live ... Kobor' voice disappears when Klaus starts up!

Chrisscorp: Gyongy = pearl, haju = hair, lany = girl, so "gyongyhaju" is like "pearly hair", with "pearl" as a noun rather than a "colour" adjective. I'm guessing a bit here (my Hungarian isn't really up to scratch!). I'm sure that the English version of the song that Omega released many years ago was just called "Pearls In Her Hair".

It's not nearly as good as the original Hungarian, though - I'd say the best version is on the 1999 Nepstadion recording, complete with loads of thunderous fireworks going off through the last chorus. :)

Yes, the Wind Of Change is in the mixed DVD from 94 and 99 shows. Your translation is perfect! So, your hungarian is great! My favourite version is the original one from the 60's era.
