I love to hear the Scorpions on the radio. The only station that plays them at all is the local rock station in Phoenix ( I wont mention them yet as I am waiting on another answer from them). I listen daily at work. I finally decided I would ask why they never play the new Scorpions music. I love thier old music and I love their new music so I thought I would ask. The respone I received made me very angry. "To be honest, neither I nor Joe, the Program Director (station deleted) felt that the new music from the Scorpions was strong enough to merit airplay." NOT STONG ENOUGH FOR AIRPLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HELLO ARE THEY LIVING IN THE DARK AGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. So I have emailed another DJ there to ask why on earth would the station be a part of "bringing the Scorpions to AZ" if they don't support their new music?" This is the answer I am waiting on and I hope he can help me to understand this concept. Don't get me wrong, I am totally happy the Scoprions are coming and I have tickets for myself and my children, all of us adore the guys. But why bring them if you don't support their music. Do any of you out there maybe have an answer?

Sorry, I can´t give you an answere. Here in Germany the radiostations also don´t play the Scorpions. Some other members also mailed to them, but nothing chanced. So I only hear radio for the news and let the Scorpions music loud out of my PC or CD-Player. The radiostations do what they want, and I do also what I want. Kill my radio!!!!!!!!!!!

its because the record company didnt slip any money into the program directors back pocket to get them to play it!,, thats better known as PAYOLA !

I know being a Scorpion fan would risk my job by slipping in a new Scorpions song in if we are sponsoring them then lets do it the right way! Keep Rockin! Arizona

The Bone, our San Francisco classic rock station, plays their songs all the time. They are the "Artist of the Week" quite frequently. To listen on the web, go to http://www.1077thebone.com, and click on listen now. Rudi and the boys are very popular in the Bay Area.

Welcome to the forum Jody and Hans.
Unfortunatelly, the situation isn't better on the Hungarian radiostations either than in the U.S.
There is just a radiostation to play Scorpions music, but its profile is to play just old musics so you can listen to just some old Scorpions songs there.
I never have heared one song either on the radio from Unbreakable album.

hey hans welcome on board,, i think he was referring to the new material from unbreakable,,does the bone play songs from unbreakable in their rotation ?

Welcome Hans to the forum. I can´t open the link Maybe someone don´t want, that I hear the Scorpions ever on radio. But now I hear Musicmatch radio. There I can create my own station with my favorits. Yeah, that rocks!!!!!!

They don't play any new Scorpions here in Houston TX either, just the 80's standards, (Rock You Like a Hurricane, The Zoo, etc). I think I did hear them play New Generation once when Unbreakable first came out but that was it. I love all of their music, the old and new, but unfortunately we live in a society that only cares about big $$$. You are SO LUCKY that they are coming to AZ! I so wish they could make it back here to TX (they were here last November) but I will be patient and wait until next time!

I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT THOMAS...
I KNOW WHICH RADIO STATION IS BEING REFERRED TO AS WELL, AND I'M UPSET BY IT...
THEY ALSO HAVE A CELEBRITY DJ THERE EVERY NIGHT, AND I WOULD THINK HE WOULD TRY AT LEAST...

There's a nightly show here called "80's Rage" the DJ will always play the Scorps when I request them. If you can listen to the station threw the computer its http://www.93kxlp.com and click on the DJ named Jay, he's the one that always plays them! He's awesome!!!

That's why I listen to Satellite Radio.
Both Sirius and XM play a good amount of Scorpions....and not just the "classic" stuff. I've heard some very early Scorps as well as the new stuff.

I'm pretty sure satellite radio is only available in the USA for now, but when it comes your way across the pond, I would highly recommend it.

Did you get to see them back in November?

I went with my 2 nephews. We were 5th row on the floor.
Great seats, great show! Tesla kicked @ss too!
I would love to see them come back!

I'm tempted to fly over to Phoenix to see the show since Armored Saint is my favorite metal band ever!

Alas....responsibility keeps me close to home.

Please dont get me wrong in all of this. I am very happy and exicted that the radio station is at least a part of bringing them to AZ. I probably would not get to see them otherwise and I have waited a very long time for this day to come. 11 DAYS!!!!!! We are sooooooooooooooooo excited!!!! I just don't understand why the radio station (the only one in the valley that pays rock from that time) can't play the new stuff too. Maybe if all of us fans in Phoenix or even in your own cities start a fuss they will start playing the new stuff and supporting the bands they bring in to concert.

Yes, I saw them here in H-town and then went to SA a couple of days later and caught them there as well. You're right, Tesla was awesome, too. They both put on a great show.
