FBI reviewing Virgin Killer cover for child porn violation

New postby fonzbear2000 on May 8th, 2008, 8:14 pm

In the wake of WND news coverage, the FBI is now reviewing a Wikipedia photo of a nude adolescent that could violate federal child-pornography laws.

The image in question, titled "Virgin Killer" from RCA's 1976 Scorpions rock album, depicts a naked pre-pubescent girl (appearing about 10 years of age) in a provocative pose. Her chest is completely exposed and a small crack is placed over her vagina.

The album is 32 years old and they're NOW looking into it? Damn, don't they have anything better to do? Oh, what about Nirvana's Nevermind? That's probably next.

They're not looking into the album, they're investigating why this image was posted in Wikipedia, because the image is against US laws (like 32 years ago, yeah  ).
So, if it comes to any legal proseedings, wiki will account, not our Scorpions.

First - you're dealing with the government - have you ever known them to do anything in a timely manner?

Second - this will probably be the most press the band has gotten in a long time. Bands that appear to be bad boys seem to have more publicity - so it may be a good thing!

Yes, it was really good, Angela.

Anyway, I rather wwould mention not a T-V but a piece of chocolate from a shop.
Just because it was really a small deal, and our guys was young (were) and they weren't as so wise as they are nowadays.

Makes me actually wonder why did they put a picture of a naked child on the album cover?
If beavers could talk, they'd say that.

it wasn't a decision of Scorpions. Rudolf explained that in a interview to a portuguese rock magazine "LOUD", i have the magazine, here comes the question and Rudolf answer:

“LOUD” – Now I want to ask you about the famous censured cover of “Virgin Killer”. Who had the idea to release something so “chocking”?

Rudy – It was the publisher. By the way, it was of a journalist and the publisher. The song “Virgin Killer” tell us that “the time is the death for the virgins”, because when we are young we had many ideas and we are very ingenuous, but the time will destroy all of this. That’s what happened…we gave the lyrics to the publisher and then they said us that the idea was to put a broken glass in front of a naked girl. The most curious is that a few years ago we met the girl of the photo, who is now about 30 years old and she is very nice. In that time the publisher knew it would have troubles with the album cover, and the boss even said that the record would be published. Nowadays it would be impossible to make something like that especially with the actual outrage of children sexual abuse, and we wouldn’t do it again, in that time it was already complicated, but as we were young we thought we had the right to go farther away.

I also read that when Klaus saw the cover, it shocked him too. But being young and not having that much control, they prolly just let ppl make decisions they wouldn't allow today.

Rudolf is a wise guy, I totally adore his wiseness,
and his explanation sounds absolutely correct and wise.

Just imagine that when you are young, you are a bit hot-headed too and you think that you have right to everything,
and you think about things and acts that they are cool.
When you are getting older, you are getting become wiser, I know it about my self too.
It's just a normal human behaviour.

Hi Gaby!
You feel fine?
Yes, you're totally right! I never think that R+K don't like the cover . . . in this time! Today, absolutely not!
But about the F.B.I.: i think in the US so many things are different . . . and now after so many years . . . They have problems...?!!! Obelix, a very cool french man  would say: "die spinnen die Amis" = they are crazy, this ameicans
