How to play first notes of Animal Magnetism?

Unread postby loverofrockmusic » April 1st, 2004, 3:34 am

I LOVE the "Animal Magnetism" song. My question is, how do you play the first few notes of this song? Apparently either Rudy or Matt is using a slider and just "hammering on" the harmonics near the bottom of the neck, close to the body of the electric guitar, while the other Scorps guitarist is also using a slider and sliding it down the neck to the tuning machines, as opposed to using a slider to "hammer on". Is this true, or just a guess on my part? And who is the Lead and who the Rhythm Guitarist of the Scorps? I absolutely am crazy about the song "Animal Magnetism". I'd be too happy to "make love to (you) right now; make love til (you) DIE" anytime, Klause or Pawel or any other of the Past or Present Scorpions. Or at the very least share a good hug and a kiss or two!

This is the way I learned to play it:

G-----2-1----------------2-1----------------------
D-----------2-2-3---------------2-2-3---3-3-3-5-3-
A-------------------------------------------------
E-0------------------0----------------------------

I'm sure it's not played on the g string because the tonal timbre makes me think that it was played on the d string.

Yes you're right, it is surely played on one of the bass strings. The upper three have a much more brighter sound.

I always had the philosophy that one should trust his ears more than any tab you find. The tab looks okay but i'm sure there are little details that are not 100% accutate.
