WOHOOOW !!!!
It's been such a long time since we started this topic. It's funny cause i read it back and i see which were my tastes at the time :)
So well it's been so long since i didn't play Scorps songs, i guess i was trapped too much into my shred-phase and i forgot about playing the good old rock'n'roll. I think the only songs that i play from the begining to the end are those that i created for my band, and we rehearse them every week. This morning i played the all the first 5 songs from Ozzy's 'No More Tears' and it's funny to listen to Zakk Wylde's guitar work while he was passing through his Lynyrd Skynyrd phase lol ... He changed a lot since 1991. Ok so since i'm back here into the Scorps forum, i think i'll go and burn my fretboard with those licks from Coming Home ...
rock on guys !!!!

I've downloaded a Zakk guitar solo video, from these first Ozzy years..and that's burn the fretboard. I'm impressed with that guy, he's not only shred. He has talent.

My local guitar shop just got in a beautiful new Custom Zakk Wylde...I was eyeing it the other day. What a great instrument.
As for what I love to play, right now I'm pretty much relegated to my band's set because I really need to learn the songs, but I LOVE playing Iron Maiden, especially Blood Brothers, The Thin Line Between Love and Hate, Holy Smoke, The Wicker Man, and PASCHENDALE. I just learned Mississippi Queen by Mountain, which is fun. And of course any and all Scorpions

not kidding. I recorded with that marvel the past week. Awesome. The sound is brutal with this monster and 800 heads. great thickness and great sustain. Some time ago i said that i dislikes EMG pickups. It depends on the guitar. This marvel with EMG kick ass.

well, Rot now you have the Zakk Wylde sound lol :)
don't forget to add a little slow chorus at the end of your signal chain to get the 100% Wylde sound as he does. Man it would be cool if you could share an audio file to hear how your new ax sounds with your monster marshall :)

Soon you'll can hear it. All rhythm guitars are recorded now. The sound will be great, i know.
Explorers, Robin Medley/Machete and Les Paul ZW for this record. I WANT BE OWNER OF THIS MARVEL. I'll finish to rec solos and arrangements soon, i'm finishing some arrangements. But i'll don't add the chorus (i'll add some of soft flanger on long chords), i always rec 2 times for rhythm (i'm single player in the band) i like dry guitars with nice eq and the just overdrive, getting aggresive tone, in my opinion. Is easy work with good tools.
This is my 1987 post..that awesome Whitesnake record

John Sykes is quite awesome on 1987, the songs really rock, and they are great for having sex lol :)

****BUT**** also in 1987 there was Maximal Security from Tony MacAlpine that was released. Man, that is a shred masterpiece !!! I was listening to it today and it's really a pleasure. I am not sure about how many shredders are in this forum, cause most of the players seem to like more 'orthodox' playing :) But anyway talking about virtuossos i'll see Steve Vai the 1st april :))) Can't wait !!! with Billy Sheehan and Tony MacAlpine ... it's gonna be a killer show.

(off-topic, talking about Billy Sheehan, my bassist is desperated cause i want to play Shyboy and he can't nail it ... looooooooooooooooooooooooooool)
