Hey guys,
What equiptment to you use to achieve the best scorpions sound? I play my Explorers and Strat through a marshall and at times use a little delay and the Boss Metal Zone to get the closest sound possible. Any suggestions from you guys? I'm close, but I'm always looking to improve. Thanks.

It sounds like you've got a pretty good set-up. If you're talking about getting a sound similar to like "The Zoo" or "Rock You..." then I think it would be better to use the Explorer than the strat. Strats don't seem to get as chunky of sound, though I may be prejudiced since I love Explorers and most Gibsons. Also, I've heard that Matthias keeps his tone knobs on similar settings. However, I like to cut the mids and boost both the bass and treble. I think there are probably many ways to get a Scorps-like sound. One more thing, I think you ought to get a talk box and wah pedal- they're very fun and then you can play songs like "The Zoo" then.

i don't think there is space for improvement, you have all that you need. try maybe to plug directly your explorer into marshall's lead channel without using any pedals. i agree with deflep, you should use your gisbon to get a heavy sound. i have played some strats but i hate them, the main reason is their thin tone ... at least they have a great neck

Thanks for the help guys. I just got a Digitech RP50 and after playing with it awhile, got a great setting for Rock you like a Hurricane. If you need the patch (or have some yourself for the RP50)let me know.
