Fake guitars from china!!

The copyright laws on china are a shame. They copy guitars and put the true brand name on the heastocks. Beware of those *** on Ebay.
A pupil mine got this summer a chinese crap, and he tought that he got a white Les Paul Custom. It wasn't cheap, really. Some of those *** are sold at ridiculous prices, but charged by overpriced shipping costs. Mainly, all of them are located in Asia, and the sellers has an awful english (worst than mine even).
Well, I saw my pupil guitar a few hours ago and hwhen he shown me the guitar out of the case, i said...strange..and when i played it, i tougt: this is not a Gibson, and observed some details on the neck, headstock, pickups and circuits, and i'm sure that is a 100% fake. Altought, plugged sound like crap, and i'm angry like if the piece of crap were bought by me. That's defraud, and is a delictive behaviour. I've said to him that the next Monday, he may have to talk with the seller, and get some legal help, a lawyer or Consumption office if the things goes bad. A part of me says that the best is to punch to the seller, he deserves it, cuz he's a perfect son of a ***. For now i'll don't post anything about the seller, but if the things goes wrong, i'll do.
Not only Gibson guitars are copied, Grestch or Ibanez (mainly this last) and Fenders are copied.
If you're a beginner on guitars, don't buy a guitar on Ebay that makes u suspect due to the cheap price, or maybe you'll regret about it later. At least my pupil will have help, and can talk with the seller face to face, and i wouldn't like to have a problem with a guy like my pupil, he has hands like hammers :)

Some links can show some tips for detect a fake:

I don't know details about fake Ibanez, cuz i don't like the real Ibanez. But if someone likes em, can post here about those fakes.
I want to ruin the bussiness to bastards like those fake manufacturers.

Worrying! I'm looking for a Gibson Les Paul on ebay. May just end up paying a bit extra and getting a new one. I like the idea of a 'lived in' one though. Thanks for the links on spotting fakes!!

Really, it's a shame !!! But anyways, buying guitars off ebay it's pretty risky ... Shipping costs are high and you can't try the guitar ... so it's like taking a blind guess !! It's not worth it !

Another reason I stick with "off brands" Dean, Hamer, and smaller builders. Seen a Gibson 335 copy recently that wasn't even close!

I adore those 800 heads. The rig of the avatar are mod 2203 heads, and one of my Explorers. But i'm playing mainly Robin guitars. Maybe we have to get some chinese fake guitars for do a ritual on stage

To see Judas Priest on Defenders of the faith tour, inspires you to get a rig similar...or not? 8)

I did see the Defenders Of The Faith tour but all of my amp/speaker purchases have seemed to have been unplanned in hindsight.

I have a couple of gearwhore friends and get first offer on stuff they get tired of. I have had that head since '94. I love a alternate color Marshall. Purple Cream, Red, Green, Orange. One of those guys I mentioned had one covered with a basketball like material it was cool!

I have collected guitars since 1977 and I play them through either the 1984 Marshall JCM-800 2204 50 watt head, a Brian May Vox 10 Watt Tone MONSTER that will drive the mess out of an 8 ohm speaker cabinet or two, or my Crate GT 1200H with a Korg DTR1000 Tuner loaded into the head.

I play them through either a Mesa-Boogie 4x12" slant speaker cabinet, a 4x10 Emenince Straight front cabinet, Crate 4x12 Cabinet, or with a 2x15" Marshall Bass Speaker cabinet added in on occasion. I use various combos of the speakers.

Effects, none 99.9% of the time but I have: MOJO Drive Box, hand built 3 in 1 distortion pedal. Think Klon, Ibanez TS-8, and Boutique type brand. I also have a MXR phase 90, and a homemade high gain box that mostly preamps. That was made from a kit by a guy I work with. I havea nice old MXR distortion box too.

Here is a shot of the Crate stuff on the Mesa with the Vox on the side.
