I have one, It's really great. Very light and an amazing tone.

It's a bit hard to sit down with it though.

an original Gibson flying V is
too much expensive for my pockets,
i don't like Epiphone by Gibson or similar,
...
I think it's uncomfortable to play , especially seated

Thank you very much! So, great sound, but uncomfortable to play... :? What to do?.... I mean, Flying V has always been my dream, but in the colledge where I study we play mostly in the sitting position...It is going to be a hard desesion :? :?: :?:
And about the price - is 669 Euro a suitable price for a good Fl.V gtr? And how much would Gibson Flying V cost?

Talk to flyingvee he has had a Gibson Schenker model for years. And simply sit and place the lower part of the V between your legs, like Michael Schenker does.

Speaking of, I was watching a Metallica concert from this year at AM Ring and in one song Kirk Hammett what appears to be a Rudolf Schenker Gibson Flying Vee. Has the half black half white paint job.

I play a Gibson Les Paul and like it except when I try to play some of Matthis's solos. He uses many very high notes that are really hard to reach on the Les Paul as it is not cutaway like an explorer or a strat?

I might need to go back to a SG again so I can reach those high licks easier, but I still love this old Les Paul & Matthias's High Chops! 8)

 t is my dream this year to purchase a FLYING "V" and learn to play- I have wanted to play since I was 21 years old!!! ( I am an old lady now but it is never to late to follow your dream!!!) I would love a turquoise and black "V" but I will start out with a simple/in-expensive model to learn on as I could not afford a custom "V". The dommenget website has some beautiful Flying V's and in great colors also!! I know I could not afford one of those beauty's yet!!! :D

Hello,

While my favorite guitars will always be Explorers, I've had a few Flying V's over the years and I really like the guitars. I've mostly played Gibsons. But after breaking the headstock off of my last one (twice...both times during gigs when the straplocks failed and the guitar when crashing down to the stage head-first) I had it repaired and sold it. I now have the Michael Schenker Dean Custom (the mid-range cost version) which I modified with the flames. I love this guitar, and the high-notes are very accessible. I also have a couple Fernandes Ravelles (one black, one white), a Gibson Explorer Studio (with a custom white paint job) & a Gibson Explorer 90 (my favorite guitar I've ever owned, complete with a Matthias Jabs paint job - white w/black stripes!)

I play Flying V (not Gibson) and the feeling is amazing! It's true that they can be bit uncomfortable to play, but it's a thing you just get used to it. The best jumping is with V, no doubt there :)
